Queen Anne Dining Chair Re-do

QUEEN ANNE DINING CHAIRS! Nothing like a few Queen Anne dining chairs to add some shabby chic style to. I happen to adore anything with Queen Anne legs so I just couldn't pass these up when I saw them. These chairs are so beautiful and wide that you can use them as dining chair or as stand alone chairs to add style to any room. These chairs were in pretty bad shape when I found them. They were scratched, loose, and the seat covers were stained and dirty.

They went from ugly and worn to shabby chic FABULOUS with a little hard work....

The process took longer than expected since these happen to be very old chairs and the chalk paint kept cracking around the tops. Took a lot of sanding and cleaning. Typically chalk paint will adhere to anything but there are those rare situations that the piece is stubborn like these.

THE PROCESS:
1. Cleaned & lightly sanded
2. Took off the seat bottom
3. Painted using Americana Décor Chalk Paint (found at Michael's)
4. Sanded cracked areas until smooth (multiple times to get perfect) and re-cleaned area
5. Added a second coat of paint
6. Distressed the furniture using sandpaper
7. Used dark wax to age
8. Applied clear wax heavily to lighten for just a touch of aging
9. Re-upholstered chair bottom using staple gun

As you can see these turned out beautifully. Nothing like a distressed piece of furniture that adds character to your home décor.

THESE ARE FOR SALE: $99 each (4 total)
